主講人介紹:

Dr Pau Loke SHOW is the director of research institute called Future Food Beacon of Excellence Malaysia. He also an Associate Professor at Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, The Dr Pau Loke SHOW is the director of research institute called Future Food Beacon of Excellence Malaysia. He also an Associate Professor at Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, The University of Nottingham Malaysia. He successful obtained his PhD in two years’ time after he graduated his bachelor degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He currently is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) and Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council UK. He is also a member of Institution of Chemical Engineers (MIChemE) UK and currently serves as honorary member in IChemE Biochemical Engineering Special Interest Group. Dr Show obtained the Post Graduate Certificate of Higher Education (PGCHE) in 2014, a professional recognition in higher education and now a fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK (FHEA). Since he started his career in September 2012, he has received numerous prestigious domestic and international academic awards, including The DaSilva Award 2018, JSPS Fellowship 2018, Top 100 Asian Scientists 2017, Asia’s Rising Scientists Award 2017 and Winner of Young Researcher in IChemE Malaysia Award 2016. He has graduated 6 PhD and 2 MSc students. Currently, he is the main supervisor for 6 PhD and 1 Msc student. He has published more than 150 SCI journal papers in less than 6 years of his career. He is now serving as an editorial board member in Biochemical Engineering Journal (Q1, IF:  3.226), Bioengineered (Q1, IF:1.693), and BMC Energy. He also lead-guest editor for five SCI-indexed journals, which are Clean Technologies & Environmental Policy (Q2, IF2.337), Processes (Q2, IF1.90), Bioengineered (Q1, IF: 1.693), Journal Current Nutrition & Food Science, and BMC Energy.

主要內容:

In recent year, Liquid Biphasic System (LBS) has become a proven tool used in separation and purification technology. The application of LBSs in clarification, partitioning and partial purification of biomolecules and bioproducts had showed the rapid development. This method is able to give high recovery yield and high purity in a single step. The LBS shows characteristics of high selectivity and is easily to scale up. Therefore, LBS offers an attractive alternative that meets the requirements of the high demand in industry processes and it is also beneficial in terms of economic and environmental protection. In the past, a lot of works and researches have been done in order to develop feasible separation processes using different types of LBSs and their applications in numerous product separations. This presentation aims to share on the recent literature works in the development of different type of LBSs and their applications in novel separations and purifications of biomaterials.
